Katrina Barbie Doll

Buying a Barbie doll and dressing it to suit your style is one thing, having one made after you is another. The Katrina Barbie Doll will be hitting stores later this year, and is made after Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif.

Katrina Kaif will be the face of Barbie for 2009 and is the first Indian women to represent the popular children’s toy. Although second in line to receive the honour, Kaif has accepted the role and is now the face of Barbie for 2009.

This Bollywood star walked the runway at Lakme fashion week in a Barbie inspired outfit. This comes as Barbie celebrate their 50 years of success and what a way to celebrate.

Barbie are now trying to ensure all nationalities are included and feel comfortable with their product. The Bollywood actress may help to promote Barbies already high popularity and may influence higher purchases.

At the Lakme fashion week Ms Kaif walked the runway in a small, bright pink dress that the Barbie will wear come September. The Katrina Barbie doll will be dressed in the same outfit and will be a Bollywood inspired doll.

No one can say if the doll will be as bigger hit as the others, but like any Barbie doll on the market, it will have its fair share of buyers.
